Privacy Policy
MinuteSell LLC (“we,” “us,” “our”) operates the MinuteSell mobile app, a local peer-to-peer resale marketplace. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using MinuteSell, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
Account & Verification Information
When you sign up, we collect your phone number and verify it via a one-time passcode sent through our verification provider (Twilio). This powers your Verified Seller badge.
Location Information
MinuteSell accesses your device’s location to determine your zip code, which we use to show you listings near you on your homepage. Your device’s precise coordinates are resolved to a zip code on your device and are not transmitted to or stored on our servers — only the zip code itself is sent and stored. You can decline location access in your device settings, but doing so will limit which listings you can see, since MinuteSell is built around local, in-person pickup.
In the future, MinuteSell plans to use precise location to help coordinate in-person meetups between buyers and sellers. When that feature ships, this policy and our App Store privacy declarations will be updated to reflect that we collect and store precise location data at that time.
Listing Content
When you create a listing, we collect the photos you upload, along with brand, category, condition, and any description you write. Photos are processed by an AI model (through Amazon Web Services) to auto-generate listing details; the photos and generated listing data are stored on our servers.
Messages
MinuteSell includes in-app messaging between buyers and sellers to arrange meetups. Message content is stored on our servers and associated with your account.
Usage Information
We collect information about how you use the app — for example, views, saves, and messages on your listings, and whether a listing is marked as sold. This powers the analytics shown to you as a seller (views over time, sales over time, etc.).
Device & Diagnostic Information
We use Sentry to collect crash reports and performance data so we can fix bugs and keep the app stable. This diagnostic data is not linked to your individual account identity. It may include general device and technical information (such as device type, operating system version, and IP address) as part of standard crash reporting.
We do not collect payment card numbers or bank details. MinuteSell’s MVP uses cash-only, in-person transactions; we do not process payments in-app at this stage.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information above to:
- Verify your identity and display your Verified Seller badge
- Show you listings near your location and connect you with local buyers/sellers
- Power the AI photo-to-listing tool
- Enable in-app messaging between buyers and sellers
- Show you your own seller analytics (views, saves, messages, items sold)
- Send you saved-search alerts you’ve opted into
- Maintain and improve app stability and performance
- Enforce our terms and prevent fraud or abuse
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your data for third-party advertising.
3. How We Share Your Information
We share information with the following categories of service providers, who process it on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes:
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) — hosts our backend, stores listing photos and data, and runs the AI model that generates listing details
- Twilio — sends verification codes to confirm your phone number
- Sentry — collects crash reports and performance data to help us identify and fix bugs
- eBay (Browse API) — we query eBay’s public listing data to suggest a price for your item; we do not send your personal information (name, phone number, photos) to eBay in this process, only generic item details like brand/category
Other buyers and sellers can see your listings, your Verified Seller badge, and any messages you send them. Your phone number is never shown directly to other users.
We may also share information if required by law, or to protect the safety of our users.
4. Data Retention
We retain your account information, listings, and messages for as long as your account is active. When you request account deletion, we delete your account information, listings, and messages immediately, with no grace period. Some information may be retained briefly in backups or as required by law, after which it is permanently removed.
5. Your Choices & Rights
- Delete your account: Contact us at support@minutesell.com to request deletion of your account and associated data.
- Location: You can disable location access in your device settings at any time.
- Notifications: You can manage saved-search alerts and other notifications in the app’s settings.
- Access/correction: Contact us to request a copy of your data or to correct inaccurate information.
If you’re a California, EU, or other resident with specific statutory privacy rights, contact us at support@minutesell.com and we’ll address your request under applicable law.
6. Age Requirement
MinuteSell is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us at support@minutesell.com and we will delete it.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted storage and transmission. No system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as MinuteSell adds features (for example, when payments are introduced). We’ll update the effective date above when changes are made. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
